Software Goodies Applet Marquee Wizard To use your marquee, you'll need to put your slideshow in an HTML file. Create an HTML file (or edit one that you have) where you want the slideshow to go. You will need to insert the applet HTML code in the HTML page to make it available. To get the applet HTML, click on the HTML tab in the Applet Marquee Wizard. Click on copy to clipboard, and paste into your HTML file. You can create whatever HTML you want for your applet page. The example discussed here kept the page simple -- just a black background and a link back to the Crazy for Cows home page. The testing that you do will be on your local machine. Next you'll need to move it to your web host. Copy your HTML file in ASCII mode; copy your images in BINARY mode. Also copy the joymarquee.class file from the Applet Marquee Wizard (you will find it in the Applet Marquee Wizard directory that the install process creates) to your web host. The simplest thing to do is to put all of your files -- your HTML, images, and the joymarquee.class file -- in the same directory on your web host. Once you do that, your slideshow is ready to go. If you want to put your images in a different directory, you'll need to modify the paths for the images in the APPLET tag (the VALUE attribute). If you want to put the joymarquee.class file in a different directory, you'll need to add a CODEBASE attribute to the APPLET tag. Unless you know what you are doing, it's probably best to just copy everything to the same directory. The Applet Marquee Wizard lets you do other things besides what is described here. It's worth playing around with the program to see what it can do. Happy slide-showing!
